Today, let's take a look at the requirements and impacts of the Instant Payment Regulations.
The expectations of the Instant Payments Regulation are due to be phased in from January 2025.
But there are still uncertainties surrounding their operational implementation and impact. In response, the European Commission has published 200 questions and answers in the form of a practical, operational guide.
The aim is to help PSPs understand the requirements of the regulation. Topics covered include: filtering of payment service users based on lists of targeted financial restrictive measures; service availability; method of calculating transaction time; and verification of the beneficiary of the transfer.
